On May 20-26 2011, storms caused over $322 million in damages in Ohio. This included a nasty hailstorm that seriously damaged cars all over Xenia,Ohio. This is actually the third highest total in recent history. It is only exceeded by the 1974 Tornado Outbreak and the Windstorm from Hurricane Ike (2008).
The graphic above shows the total liability of several insurers in Ohio. As you can see, this amount of damage is hardly trivial to insurers in the state. Hopefully, the remainder of 2011 will have less storm activity.
